Heifer Project - The Gift of an Ark
In 2007, Pittsboro Presbyterian Church held its first Alternative Christmas Fair. We invited local organizations to come and set up displays with opportunities for individuals to "purchase" gifts for Christmas. Many of these gifts were donations on behalf of family and friends. Instead of a typical present, these gifts benefitted the giver and the gifted. Some agencies represented were: Partnership for Children, Childcare Network, Haw River Assembly, C.A.R.E., and others. In 2009, we hope to build on this past success and again have opportunities for more non-profit agencies to be represented.
