Women of the Church/Congregational Care for January 2010 meeting date has been changed from the first Friday to the second Friday, January 8, 2010 due to the Holiday.

The Adult Class for Sunday mornings in the New Year will begin on Sunday, January 10. We will be studying Abraham by reading the book by the same name, written by Bruce Feiler. If you wish to purchase a copy Troy has a few left. Otherwise, feel free to visit our website, click on the LINKS option in the horizontal menu and follow the link to the Adult Bible Class.

Today will be a carol-sing Sunday. Corkey and Linda Harris will be leading in worship while Pastor Troy is assisting Bill Browder in worship at Mt. Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church, Siler City. Commissioned Lay Pastor, Bill Browder, has accepted a pastoral relationship with Mt. Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church and will be formally approved at the next meeting of Salem Presbytery in February 2010. Until then and afterwards, our Pastor Troy, will be Bill's mentor helping him adjust to his new relationship and encouraging his growth.

Sunday, January 10, we will be celebrating the Lord's Supper and Ordaining/Installing our new class of elders. Ron Crammer will be ordained and installed. Warren Bailey and Doris Betts having previously served as elders will be installed. The Session and the congregation would like to thank Shirley Lindley, Paul Harrell, and Edna Bailey for their service, dedication, and leadership in the role of elder!
