Time is coming soon for us to return to our regular worship hour at 11:00 on Sunday morning. We will return to 11:00 on the first Sunday in September (Labor Day Weekend). We will also resume Living Large and Adult Classes at that time at 10:00. If you have not purchased a book for the Adult Class, please contact your local bookseller for Lord, Teach Us: The Lord's Prayer and the Christian Life written by William Willimon and Stanley Hauerwas. We will begin the first class with the book's introduction.
Pastor Troy is collecting willing individuals and families who would like to provide a small meal on a Sunday evening this Fall for the Catechism Class. The Catechism Class is the ecumenical youth group we host. The meal is usually for less than 7 people and is comprised of a main dish, one side, and a dessert. Drinks are provided. Please call the church office if you are interested in taking a Sunday. This is one way you can directly support the youth of this church and our community!!!
Pittsboro Presbyterian Church is still collecting worn women's shoes. The proceeds benefit Relay for Life. The collection box is under the table outside the rest-rooms. If you have any questions, please speak to Sherry Salyer.
BSA Troop 900 is selling calendars as a fund raiser. The cost is $10/each and supports a good cause. Contact Linda Kolpack-Martindale if you are interested. Home-663-3695 or church office-542-4702.
Just a reminder that the need for food is great. No donation is too small. Help us to fill the cart located outside the kitchen.
It's a fall beach retreat! Friday Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 4 the women of Pittsboro Presbyterian Church are invited to gather at the beach to laugh, learn, and fellowship. We'll be staying in a house on Caswell beach and will welcome a guest speaker for two brief workshops on Saturday. We'll enjoy Sunday breakfast out and join a local congregation for worship before heading home on Sunday. Cost is $100/person that includes lodging, dessert on Friday, all meals on Saturday, a check-out cleaning (so we don't have to) and a small honorarium for our guest speaker. Please make checks payable to Pittsboro Presbyterian Church and turn them in to Edna Bailey or Mitzi Lesher-Thomas by Sept.13. Carpooling is available and some financial assistance may also be available. Questions? Contact Edna 542-4946, (nanabailey@gmail.com) or Mitzi 542-3034, lesherthomas@gmail.com
Congratulations to Stuart Montgomery! She has been awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.
