Beginning the first Sunday of June we will worship at the 10:00 hour on Sunday mornings.  We will keep this time for worship until the last Sunday of August.  There will be no Sunday morning educational opportunities throughout the summer.  Nursery will be provided during worship along with Children's Church for children ages 3-7 following the Time with the Children during worship.

Sunday, May 23, we will celebrate Pentecost Sunday by celebrating the role and service of our teachers for our children's program, Living Large.  The Christian Education Committee will take responsibility for handing out certificates and words of appreciation during worship.

SPECIAL OFFERINGS REPORT:

The church's Nominating Committee be recognized during worship this morning in order to highlight their committee as well as pray for their work. The Nominating Committee for 2010 as: Linda Harris, Chair; Reba Sullivan, Lindy Parr, and Edna Bailey. The Session requests that you keep the work of your Nominating Committee in your prayers daily and that you consider serving as an officer in the church if called upon to do so.

VBS offerings-
We will not be hosting VBS this summer but there are other churches who will be hosting them. Two opportunities Christian Education committee is recommending are University Presbyterian Church, Chapel Hill, which holds VBS at Camp New Hope and Pittsboro United Methodist Church here in Pittsboro. The dates for each are the last weeks of June (UPC - June 28-July1) and July (PUMC - July 26-30), respectively. If you need more information, call the church office.

Sunday, May 23 during worship, the Christian Education Committee will recognize and celebrate the work of our Living Large volunteers - teachers, helpers, coordinators, leaders, and children all!


Our Summer worship schedule has been approved by Session for worship to begin at 10:00am from Sunday, June 6 - Sunday, August 29. During this time Adult education classes will not be held on Sunday mornings but may appear as highlight classes at other time slots during the summer months.

Because of Mother's Day and low attendance in past years, the Congregational Care committee, in concurrence with the Session, has chosen not to hold a Second Sunday lunch in May.  We hope you will use this time to celebrate the gift of mothers.
